You
don't need to be told how hard the Pagan community has been hit
financially by the current economic climate. We all either have been
affected personally or know someone that is going through job losses,
cutbacks or some form of financial loss.
There are many
programs available out there that provide assistance in some manner to
the general community. Many of them are run by mainstream churches with
large budgets, large congregations and deep pockets. Some of these
programs are limited to members of their churches.
The Pagan Community needs something
just for them. We need a pool of resources to turn to to find
assistance. We need a centralized place to go to find answers on where
to find assistance. We need some type of emergency assistance program
to help OUR families in need when utilities are in danger of being cut
off, when there is no money to feed our children, and when eviction is
imminent. Before we can offer assistance, we need to have funds to
offer.
The Pagan Assistance Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that works to offer programs and resources to the Pagan community.
The Pagan Assistance Fund is not limited to one state. We have people all over the country that support the fund as well as people all over the country that request assistance. One of the latest projects of the PAF is starting chapters across the country to make it easier to service these people. If you are interested in starting a chapter of the PAF, contact us at info@paganassistancefund.com for more information.
Some of the ongoing programs the Pagan Assistance Fund has currently include:
Toys for Yule: This is an ongoing program. We collect new, unwrapped toys through out the year and distribute them during the holidays to Pagan families in need.
Gaia's Bounty Pantry: We collect shelf stable food and groceries and distribute them to families in need.
Pagan Prison Ministry: We work with other ministries and prison chaplains to try and provide information and supplies to Pagan inmates. We've recently partnered with several organizations including Circle Sanctuary to service inmates all over the country.
Back to School: Through donations and deeply discounted shopping we put together school supply packages to help parents with the high cost of supplying their children with all the things that schools are asking them to provide each year.
